The Best Place to Buy :)

Things with my new Paparazzi business have been exciting lately! Not only have I recently completed my FIRST online party, but I have three more lined up this month (one of which is tonight and tomorrow night).

I've learned a lot so far, and realized that the best place for people to keep up-to-date with Paparazzi by Kate Brier is to like my page on Facebook. 

While this website will be helpful for general information about Paparazzi (see the tabs above), if you want to buy then Facebook is the place to go. I'm able to update my Facebook page much more frequently, hold contests there for free jewelry, and visitors to that page can see upcoming parties that I'm hosting.

For now, I've decided not to post current inventory on my Facebook page or this website. I'm getting new shipments frequently and the jewelry that I have on hand is constantly changing. With a full-time job (plus a husband and dog to take care of), I just don't have the time to make updates that often.

Instead, the best way to see the jewelry & accessories I have for sale is to attend (or host) a party. Parties can be online via Facebook or at home, but, since I am new to Philly, I expect that the vast majority will be online.

I also want to reiterate something that I've said in the past: I am highly skeptical of direct sales businesses. I've had friends do it, and felt so uncomfortable going to their parties because I felt like I would have to spend a lot of money on something I didn't even want.

The reason I decided to start selling Paprazzi jewelry is because everything is only $5. I don't pressure people who come to my parties, but even if you DID feel like you HAD to buy something - you could do a whole lot worse than a piece of cute jewelry at a cheaper price than Target, Walmart, or Claires ;) 

And if you aren't in a position to buy anything, you can always host a party. Hostesses get a free piece (of their choice) just for hosting an online or at-home party. Then, for every 10 items sold they earn another! If a guest books her own party, the hostess gets ANOTHER free piece for every party booked! It adds up fast. When I hosted a party before joining Paparazzi, I earned 7 free pieces of jewelry. All I had to do was invite my friends to a Facebook event that was set-up and completely managed by someone else. Easy peasy :)

I do want to thank everyone who has supported my new venture so far. It's tough being the sugar mama to a dental school student (he just had to spend $1200 on loupes, for example), so every little bit helps :)

Ugh - why do I have the worst timing ever?

I signed up as a Paparazzi Accessories consultant two weeks ago, and they've just announced that for the New Year they are offering their best incentive ever for becoming a consultant.

All I got was a cookie cutter :(

Well, that AND a really awesome opportunity to have my own home-based business ;)

Anyway, my point with this post isn't to wallow in my awful timing. It's to share news about this incentive to anyone who might be interested in joining my team as a consultant. (For more information on becoming a consultant, check out my "join my team" page). While Paparazzi does have perks for joining every now and then, from what I've heard this one ROCKS.

Here's the scoop:

To become a consultant and get access to Paparazzi Accessories at wholesale (which you then sell for $5 and make an instant 45% commission), you can either pay a one-time enrollment fee of $40 or purchase a starter kit and get that fee waived.

Starter kits make sense because you get supplies you need to start your business (a helpful book, shopping bags, display hooks, etc.) plus jewelry & accessories.

The incentive for January is this:

Anyone who buys a starter kit gets $$$ credited to their Paparazzi account for future purchases:

Small Home Party Starter Kit ($300) = $50 credit

Large Home Party Starter Kit ($700) = $125 credit

Small Boutique Starter Kit ($1400) = $250 credit

Large Boutique Starter Kit ($2750) = $500 credit

So a kickback for the kick off of 2014 :)

My First Online Party

At any party I run, my hostesses will get 1 free piece for hosting, 1 free piece for every 10 sold, and 1 free piece for every party booked by an attendee. Since I don't have any hostess volunteers yet - I decided to throw a "mystery hostess" party on Facebook next month to help launch Paparazzi by Kate.

With a mystery hostess party, any freebies that the hostess would have gotten goes to the winner of a raffle. Attendees have several way to earn entries to the raffle:

1 entry for RSVPing

1 entry for inviting a friend (friend must attend)

1 entry for each night you attend (or 3 entries if you attend both nights)

1 entry for each piece you purchase at the party

1 entry if you "like" my Facebook page 

5 entries if you book your own party (can take place before or after this one)

15 entries if you join my team

The party will take place over two nights (Thursday, January 17 and Friday, January 18), each at 9:30 p.m. EST (since I have so many West Coast friends, I gotta make sure they'll make it home from work in time). 

I scoped out the Paparazzi website yesterday, and they have some really great pieces that I am going to order specifically for this party.

If you'd like to host a party of your own, you can do so before or after January 17th. As long as the party is booked by the time I calculate the number of entries each attendee earns, you will receive 5 entries. 

My Jewelry Has Arrived!

I'm excited to announce that my first shipment arrived on my birthday, as planned! It was so fun to open the bright pink box and dig into dozens and dozens of necklaces, earrings, bracelets & hair accessories.

I've added photos of everything I am currently selling on my Facebook page. I hope to eventually post inventory here as well, along with the ability to shop right from this website. Baby steps, though :) Until then, check out my Facebook page and be sure you "like" it to be eligible for drawings for free pieces.

Be The First To Know!

I'm getting so anxious for my first shipment of jewelry and accessories to come in. Right now, UPS says it'll get here on Christmas Eve. Coincidentally, that's also my birthday - so happy birthday to me :)

As I wait for my inventory, I'm making some updates to this blog as well as my Paparazzi by Kate Facebook & Instagram. One of the first orders of business is to set up this blog on Bloglovin' so that people can subscribe and be notified every time I post. Since most of my posts (at least for now) will be pictures of new pieces, if you subscribe via Bloglovin' you be among the first to see all my new stuff :)

Bloglovin' is a great tool for people who read blogs. You can subscribe to all of your favorites and every time a new post goes live, your Bloglovin' feed is refreshed. I use it for my personal blog (Diary of a Dental School Wife) and also keep track of all my favorite blogs on there.

Tonight I am excited to announce that I've decided to become an Independent Consultant for Paparazzi Accessories! I'll be placing my first order in the morning, and will be ready to start holding parties soon!
